UNCLE TOM’S CABIN by Harriet Beecher Stowe is a first edition, with binding B. Hobart & Robbins slug on copyright page. It is a two volume set with gilt lettering, gilt vignette on cover and additional blind stamping.
This set has six plates. The cover vignettes are faded and spine lettering is faded to a greater extent. Bindings are tight, but page edges uneven. Foxing and soiling throughout. There is a 1902 newspaper clipping on front free end paper. Also present are shadows from other newspapers clippings on front and rear pastedowns and rear endpaper, and the title page of volume 2. The spine on volume two is missing a small segment. Spine heads and tails chipped. Our price for this American Classic is $2,000.


Geologic Atlas of California
Sacramento: California Division of Mines and Geology, 1969. Elephant folio. Cloth. Multi-ring binding. 28 large fold-out maps, with images as large as 22” x 28”, each with accompanying fold-out illustrated index sheets, covering the entire state. Dates of maps run from 1958 to 1967. Most are loose (as published), with instruction page for attaching them to stubs throughout the volume. Maps are unmarked and free or tears. There are stains on the lower corners of about half of the maps and indexes, not affecting images.
